About Us

OUR STORY & EXPERIENCE

Umngane Safaris is an exclusive family-owned hunting destination in the heart of the Waterberg area in Limpopo, South Africa. Located about 2.5 hours north of Johannesburg, the property offers ethical hunting, wingshooting, fishing and family safari experiences in a malaria-free setting with strong conservation values at the core.

The operation is led by Dawyn and Chantell Hefer. Dawyn is the director, outfitter and founder of Umngane Safaris, while Chantell oversees the lodge, office work and client correspondence. Umngane also operates on privately owned and closely managed concessions across Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, North West and the Northern Cape, offering clients a wide variety of terrain, species and safari combinations.
